After high school, I went to San Jose State University and graduated with a degree in MedicalTechnology. I then went to Ventura General Hospital for my internship and then passed the stateboard exam. I continued working there for a while and then moved to San Pedro, California, where I have been ever since. Shortly after moving to San Pedro, I met my husband. Some yearslater, we had a daughter who just recently got married.
Over the years I have done a wide variety of things. Some of them related to medicine and somewere not. In the earlier years, I helped set up and run the laboratory for the San Pedro Free Clinic. Some years later I was on the board for that organization.
I also spent several years designing and making clothing for individuals and had the opportunity todo some costume work for the local PBS station as well as work on a fundraiser for LA Opera where I worked with Placido Domingo making a shirt for his part of the performance. I had the opportunity to work with several interesting and famous actors during this time. Most recently, I had the privilege of making my daughter's wedding dress.
For the past 21 years, I have been teaching yoga classes and for about 15 years, have been teaching a couple of forms of gi gong. About 17 years ago, I attended Yo San University which is a school for Traditional Chinese Medicine. I did not become an acupuncturist, but do several things related to that field. Until recently, I taught at Yo San and at Emperors College, which is also a school for TCM.
Most recently, my husband is on the Board of Directors for National Audubon and they have meetings in different places about every four months, so we have been having an opportunity to travel
