We finely stopped procrastinating and decided to send you a note. You know where we are but not what we have been doing. Dave Emerson and I got married in 1962. David was that really good-looking guy from the class of “58.” We left Bakersfield in 1970 and moved to Memphis, Tennessee. Dave worked 35 years for Bluff City Transportation and Storage Company, a branch of Atlas Van Lines Incorporated.
He retired as VP of operations in 2003. I worked for the same company and was Dave’s secretary for 5 years. We have two children, a boy and a girl and have four grandchildren. After finding out we were going to be grandparents I quit my job and opened up a Day Care Center. I retired after working this job for 15 years.
During the last 10 years before retiring we did a lot of traveling and camping in our 5th wheel. We sold our rig and bought a home in a small retirement community in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas. We live on a lake, in the woods and in the Ozarks. Dave says, “Where we live is the best kept secret in Arkansas.” We love it. We now love fishing and working in our flower garden. We have a great church we attend and love working in it.
We have had a wonderful 45 years together this coming April 2007. God has been good to us and has blessed us in many ways and we are thankful for all he has done. Your classmates, DAVE AND LAVON
